Select Private Care is a reference publication for families navigating mental health and substance use care. Its focus is the work around a care decision: finding options, preparing conversations, comparing information and organizing follow-through.
Our editorial territory
We write about questions families can bring to a provider, what to record after a conversation and how to organize responsibilities across a care team. We distinguish locating a provider from assessing clinical fit. A directory can reveal options; the appropriate professionals and the person receiving care determine what those options mean in an individual situation.
What makes the reference useful
Every practical guide should leave the reader with something they can use: a structured question list, a comparison worksheet, a next-step log or a map of people and responsibilities. Where a source describes a policy or recommendation, the page identifies that source. Where we design a worksheet, we label it as an editorial planning tool.
A source link is an invitation to inspect the basis of a statement. It is not an endorsement by that source, and it does not imply that the source reviewed this publication.
How this publication fits the portfolio
During the initial library build, the pages concentrate on their own audience and useful information. Later service references will be placed where the subject and the reader’s next step fit, with the business relationship made visible.
